Essential Oils are therapeutic oils extracted from plants by distillation. Only certain plants that have medicinal values are utilized for preparing essential oils like Clove, Eucalyptus, Tea tree, etc.,

1. Headache and Migraine

The most sought after cure for Headache and Migraine are the volatile oils (Essential oil). Popular one being the Eucalyptus Oil. There are many herbs which relieve headache and some of them are Peppermint Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil.

When you have a severe Migraine and don’t intend to take a tablet, you can prefer essential Oils. Take a few drops of oil and apply it over your temples and forehead. The strong aroma of the oil will also help you to relieve from headache by inhaling.

2. Stress and Anxiety

One common thing that many of us experience in this fast-paced life is Stress and Anxiety. It takes a toll on our mental health. Essential Oils have been used for a long time to calm our nerves and feel relaxed.

Similarly, Eucalyptus also reduce the cold and cough to a great extent. You can apply these oil in your chest and also inhale them to lessen cough and cold.

The Menthol in Peppermint is a basic medication to treat sore throat. Cinnamon, Lemon and Rosemary oil also works great for these illnesses. Breathing oil-infused steam is a traditional method followed to ease cough and sore throat.

Stress, Depression, and Insomnia go hand-in-hand and leads to one another with our hectic lifestyle and work pattern. It disrupts our peace of mind and has a serious effect on mental wellness. Some research has found that usage of essential oils has significantly improved the quality of sleep and eases stress, especially for post-partum women. 

Chamomile, Vetiver, Lavender, Geranium, Rosemary, and all Floral oils help in promoting better sleep. Doing Aromatherapy before going to sleep relieves your tension or you can add a few drops of these essential oils in the water while bathing.

5. Massage Therapy

One of the most acquainted practices of essential oil is its usage for massage. With our busy and hectic work schedule, our mind and body are prone to stress. It is not a harm in doing massage once in a while to calm our nerves and feel relaxed. 

Lavender Oil is famous for its revitalizing nature and aids in massaging. Geranium, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, and Moringa Oil are also prevalent in body massage. Combine these essential oils with carrier oils and massage gently over the body to alleviate pain and soothe physical discomfort.

Pollution, stress, and a sedentary lifestyle make our face and skin prone to damages and infections. To get flawless skin, it has to be maintained properly. The Anti-inflammation properties of Essential Oil repair skin and gives impeccable results.

  • Tea Tree Oil is beneficial for treating acne and breakouts. 
  • Lavender oil helps to lessen skin irritation and restore your natural skin tone. 
  • Lemon Oil has Anti-Ageing properties.

Room fresheners available in the markets contain artificial scents and chemicals. It’s detrimental for your health in the long-term. Essential oils have a pleasant smell and stimulating property and it can be great room freshener when engaged.

Rose, Clove, Clary sage, Basil, and Lemon Oil can work as great air fresheners with their exhilarating aura. You can make oil diffusers with personalized flavor, make a scented candle, air freshener sprays and replace it with the old artificial fresheners. The natural fragrance brings refreshing aura and lits up your home with positivity. 

8. Fights Infection

Much research has found that natural oils like Clove, Thyme, and Lemon Grass have Antifungal and Antibacterial properties. Bacterial and Fungal Infections like Rashes, Acne, Ringworms, Nail fungus, and Eczema can be treated with Essential Oils. 

Cinnamon, Bergamot, and Oregano Oil are effective against skin infections. Essential oils are highly concentrated. Hence, dilute these oils or mix with a carrier oil before applying to the infected area.
